Changelog

What changed, and when

Every change you could notice on the site, in the Studio, in the free tools and in the API. Each one is dated by the day it went live, and fixes are listed with the new things.

ImprovedStudio, API

Vocal tuning follows your key, and you can choose it

With Major or Minor chosen, notes are now tuned to the key your take reads as when that key is clear, and notes you sang in tune stay where they are. The tuning screen also has a Key choice; leave it on Detect to read the key from your take.

ChangedStudio, API

Mastering no longer turns a loud song down

When you ask for no particular loudness, the master is now at least as loud as the file you uploaded, within the range professional masters reach. Before, a loud upload could come back quieter than it went in.

NewStudio, API

Restoration can keep only the voice

The new “Keep only the voice” repair takes away music and every other sound behind a voice. “Background to keep” sets how much of the room stays.

NewStudio, API

Mix a vocal over a beat from two files

Mixing now reads the file names people use, such as “vocal”, “voice” and “beat”. With “These stems are unmixed” on, a raw vocal buried far under the beat is raised to the level finished records use. A reference track now moves a mix halfway towards it, as in mastering.

NewStudio, API

Vocal tuning can take a whole song

With “This is a whole song”, the voice is taken out of the music, tuned and put back, and the rest of the song is left as it was. A little of the original voice stays in the music and is not moved.

NewStudio

Download the preview of a result, or send it to another service

A result you have not bought now offers “Download the preview (MP3)”, as the pricing page says the free plan allows. Every finished result also has “Use in another service”, and restoration says when it found nothing that needed fixing.

ChangedStudio

“Reduce noise” starts unticked

Most recordings people restore are finished songs, where noise reduction can take away more than noise. It now waits until you tick it.

Results no longer carry an AI mark

Euphona works on your own recordings and creates no audio of its own, so results no longer carry a machine-readable AI mark or the line about it. Our AI transparency notice explains when that would change.

You can message us on WhatsApp

A WhatsApp button now sits on every page of this site. Pressing it opens a chat with us in WhatsApp, and the privacy policy now describes what WhatsApp receives when you do.

A seller-details page for Japan

Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions asks an online seller to state who it is, how to reach it, its prices, payment, delivery and cancellation terms. A new page states these for Euphona, and the Japanese site links it at the foot of every page.

Every plan keeps every version you make

The pricing page and the Studio's billing page said the free plan kept version history for 7 days and Creator for 90. Neither limit was ever applied: as the privacy policy says, your audio and results are kept until you delete them, on every plan. Both pages now say so, and your plan's storage allowance is the only limit.

The Proof page is withdrawn

The Proof page published restoration figures measured on September 22. The restoration engine has changed since and the figures were not measured again, so we took the page down rather than leave them standing.

ChangedStudio, API

Mastering's default keeps true peak at −1.0 dBTP

The default master now delivers at −10.6 LUFS with true peak at −1.0 dBTP, the ceiling Spotify recommends. It used to deliver at −9.7 LUFS with peaks up to −0.1 dBTP. The ceiling menu offers Automatic (−1.0) and Full scale (−0.1), and you can still set your own target.

FixedStudio, API

24-bit WAV files use the plain header Spotify asks for

Our 24-bit mono and stereo WAV files carried the extended WAV header, which Spotify's audio requirements say not to use. They now use the standard one, with the audio itself unchanged. If a platform refused a 24-bit WAV from us before, export it again.

FixedStudio

Uploads keep going when you open another Studio page

Opening another page in the Studio used to stop an upload in progress. Now it carries on, every other page shows how many files are still uploading, and closing or reloading the tab asks you to confirm first.

NewStudio

Choose the same file again to finish an interrupted upload

If a reload or a closed tab stopped an upload, choosing the same file again continues it from where it stopped instead of starting over. A file that already arrived is not sent twice, and an upload that never finished is cleared away after a day.

ImprovedStudio, API

Clipping repair rebuilds the peaks a loud recording lost

When a recording is too loud, the tops of its waves are cut flat. This is called clipping. Restoration now rebuilds those peaks instead of smoothing over the gap, and on every recording in our test set the new repair measured better than the old one.

FixedStudio, API

Restoration no longer undoes its own repairs

The last step of a restoration could squash the peaks a repair had just rebuilt. When a restored file needs to be quieter, it is now turned down evenly, so the repair survives.

FixedStudio, API

Spatial ADM masters now open in the standard's reference renderer

ADM is the file format used to deliver Dolby Atmos music. The EBU's reference renderer refused every ADM master we made; now 5.1, 7.1.4, 9.1.6 and object masters all render in it. If you exported an ADM master before this date, export it again.

FixedStudio, Free tools, API

Tuned vocals and separated stems stay below digital maximum

A tuned vocal or a separated stem could peak just above the highest level a digital file can hold, and distort when you brought it into your own project. Both are now turned down evenly when needed, as mastering and restoration already were.

NewStudio, API

Line up a doubled vocal with the lead take

In vocal tuning you can now add a lead take. The timing of your take is then moved, moment by moment, to follow the lead, in the same pass as the pitch correction.

NewStudio, API

Change a single note and run the tuning again

A finished tuning run now lists every note: when it starts, what was sung, and where it was moved. Pick a different note for any of them, or keep it as sung, and run the same take again with one button. It works on a phone, and the API accepts the same note changes.

ImprovedStudio, API

Vocal tuning lands closer to the note you meant

Singers often slide into a note, so its first moment is a poor guide to where it is going. Tuning now reads the whole note before choosing where to move it, and it measured closer to the intended note on every take in our test set.

ImprovedStudio, API

Slides, scoops and grace notes stay as you sang them

Very short movements between notes are no longer pulled onto their own semitone, which made a slide sound like a staircase. They keep their shape. A very short retune time still gives the hard-tuned effect if you want it.

FixedWebsite

Product pages now describe only what each service delivers

We checked every product page against what the Studio really returns and removed what it did not deliver. The mastering report is described as what it shows: loudness, peak level and loudness range, before and after. The stem separation page says it can return six parts, including guitar.

FixedStudio

The “new sign-in” email gives advice that works

This email told you to reset your password, but Euphona has no passwords: you sign in with a code we email you. It now sends you to your account page to sign the other device out, and suggests securing your email inbox.

ImprovedStudio, API

Vocal tuning explains its scale choices and reads your key

The default scale stays “Chromatic”, which moves each note to the nearest semitone; on real singers it matched the intended note more often than any key-based choice. The Studio now says this beside each option, and the report names the key of your take when it is confident.

ChangedStudio

Sign in with an emailed code instead of a password

Enter your email address and we send you a code. The email also has a link that fills the code in for you. Google sign-in still works, and if the email cannot be sent the screen tells you at once.

ImprovedWebsite, Studio

One click from the pricing page to payment

Choosing a plan now takes you straight to payment. If you need to sign up first, the plan you picked is remembered through sign-up. Minute packs have their own “Buy minutes” button.

NewAPI, Studio

Set your own monthly API spending limit

Settings now has a control for the most your API keys can spend in a month. Before, the limit was a fixed default you could not see or change. Work you start in the Studio is not affected.

FixedStudio

Studio error pages now have a main heading

Screens like a missing job or an expired invitation now start with a proper heading, which helps people who move around a page by headings with a screen reader.

ImprovedStudio

A simpler result screen

A finished result now opens with the before-and-after player, one sentence on what changed, and the download. Measurements and re-run settings are one tap away. The text you meet on arrival went from 443 words to 156.

ImprovedStudio

Library: search as you type, filter, and grid or list

Your tracks start higher on a phone's first screen. Search runs as you type, you can filter by service, and you can switch between a grid and a list. Status marks differ in shape as well as color.

FixedStudio

Buying in the Studio works again

Pressing Subscribe, buying minutes or buying a track could leave you on the same page with nothing happening. Purchases now go through, and a track purchase shows the right next step.

The Studio reopened after maintenance that began on September 8. The Studio changes below arrived with it.

NewStudio

Compare a new version with the one before it

When you run a track again, you can switch between your upload, the new result and the previous version, all played at the same loudness. You can also search your library by track name.

ImprovedStudio

Results explained in plain words, with help one tap away

The result screen opens with a sentence saying how much louder your track became, and how that compares with the level streaming services play at. The account menu has “Help & guides” and a working Contact support link.

NewStudio, API

Uploads continue after a dropped connection

If your connection drops during an upload, it continues from where it stopped instead of starting again. This matters most on mobile data and with large files. The API offers the same through the open tus upload standard.

NewStudio

Invite people to your workspace

On the Professional and Max plans, the owner can invite people by email, give them a role and remove them, from a Members page in Settings. An invited person sees the workspace and their role before they accept.

NewStudio

Export a record of everything you made

Settings has an export listing your workspaces, what you made, its measurements and what it cost, with a download link for each file you can download. The delete-account section links to it, because deleting cannot be undone.

NewStudio, Website

Public profiles at euphonaai.com/@yourhandle

Anyone can now have a public profile, not only artists, with a display name and up to four roles such as producer, songwriter or podcaster. You choose whether it is public, unlisted or off.

ImprovedStudio, API

A job waiting for processing capacity says so

When no processing machine is free, the job shows “waiting for capacity” and nothing is charged while it waits. If capacity does not come back in time, the job stops with that reason, and nothing is charged.

FixedStudio

The library lists your songs, not every file we made

Finished files such as a master sit under the run that made them instead of appearing as separate tracks. Each run shows the loudness of what it delivered, so repeated runs of one song are easy to tell apart.

FixedStudio, API

Finished files show their real format

A file's details showed the format of your upload, not of the file we made, so a 24-bit master from a 16-bit upload was labelled 16-bit. The audio was always right; now the label is too.

NewWebsite

A Proof page with measurements you can repeat

The Proof page shows how our processing measures on a public-domain recording, with the steps to repeat each measurement yourself, including the results that do not flatter us.

NewWebsite, Free tools

Waveforms on every before-and-after preview

The previews on the product pages and the vocal remover draw a waveform for each version, on the same scale, so a louder result looks taller. One position control moves them together and works from the keyboard.

FixedWebsite

The homepage no longer jumps while it loads

On phones the page shifted upward when its font arrived, moving whatever you were about to tap. It now stays still: the layout-shift score on a mid-range phone went from 0.110 to 0.000.

ImprovedWebsite

Text across the site is easier to read

Long paragraphs use a darker text color, raising contrast from 5.39:1 to 14.2:1 in the light theme. Body text has a real italic, and step-by-step sections no longer squeeze words into very short lines.

NewWebsite

A status page with live checks

The status page shows whether each part of Euphona is working. Planned work is labelled “Under maintenance” rather than “down”, and the page no longer reloads itself, which had sent screen-reader users back to the top.

ImprovedWebsite

Pages use the width of a large screen

On wide screens pages no longer sit in a narrow strip. The homepage explains how it works in three steps: upload, analyze, hear the difference before you pay.

NewWebsite, Studio, API

Euphona is live

The website and the Studio opened. In the Studio you can master a finished track, separate a song into stems, restore a damaged recording, tune vocals, mix from stems and make a spatial version, on a free plan or a paid one.

Launch day: sign-in and the Studio did not work for about five hours

For about five hours after Euphona went live on September 5, you could not sign in or create an account, and the Studio and the vocal remover did not work. Parts of the service were failing to start, and our release checks did not notice. We fixed it the same evening, and every release now has to show that each part starts before it goes live.
